PAEC PRESENTS: CelloGayageum

Two musical traditions. Two extraordinary artists. One unforgettable constellation.

Continue your journey through 26–27 PAEC Presents Season: A Season That Shines with CelloGayageum, a captivating duo where Eastern and Western musical traditions meet in perfect harmony.

Founded in 2016 by Austrian cellist Sol Daniel Kim and Korean gayageum virtuoso Dayoung Yoon, CelloGayageum was born from a shared vision of connection—bringing together cultures, histories, and artistic traditions through the universal language of music. Their collaboration blends the rich, expressive voice of the cello with the delicate beauty of the 12-string gayageum, creating a sound that is both timeless and refreshingly new.

Inspired by Korean folk melodies and shaped by global influences, the duo’s original compositions invite audiences into a musical landscape where tradition and innovation exist side by side. Every performance is an intimate conversation between two remarkable instruments, weaving together centuries of heritage with contemporary artistry.

Dayoung Yoon, an acclaimed gayageum performer and composer, has been recognized throughout Korea and Europe for her contributions to traditional music, while Sol Daniel Kim, an accomplished Austrian cellist and composer, has performed with leading orchestras across Europe and represented Austria in Eurovision Young Musicians. Together, they have created a genre-defying performance that transcends borders and celebrates the beauty of cultural exchange.

Elegant, expressive, and deeply moving, CelloGayageum offers an evening of music unlike any other—a reminder that when different voices come together, they create something brighter than either could alone.

Join us for this unforgettable performance as another constellation comes to life in A Season That Shines.
