The Federal Way Symphony is proud to celebrate its 35th anniversary season in 2018-2019. Still under the direction of its founding musical director, A. Brian Davenport, the symphony’s season debut features Mendelssohn’s symphony no. 4 – the “Italian” symphony – and Johannes Brahms’ piano concerto no. 1 with soloist Dainius Vaičekonis.
Dr. Vaičekonis is assistant professor and head of keyboard studies at the Seattle Pacific University. He has an active performance career as soloist and collaborative artist in the U.S. and Europe and performs extensively with his wife, Asta, as a piano duo. He has performed with local, national, and international orchestras and also serves as a judge for piano competitions in the Pacific Northwest.
