Jet Cities is an exciting a cappella chorus based in Federal Way, WA. The chorus sings four-part, a cappella harmony, and sings songs from all eras, including popular music, show tunes, and jazz. Their goal is to bring positive and uplifting messages to audiences while taking into consideration the cultural and social context of songs. They are committed to having a diverse group of singers, supporting community activities, and being passionate about singing and empowering each other. Members are from all walks of life, of all ages, and from all over the Seattle/Tacoma Metropolitan area. Some are semi-professional musicians–and some last sang in their high school choir–but they all love to sing and perform! The chorus was founded on July 3, 1962 and is a member of the worldwide musical educational organization SingUnited International (formerly Sweet Adelines International). They are supported in part by the Federal Way Arts Commission, the Federal Way Performing Arts & Events Center, and 4Culture. 

Their director, Rachel Pack, is skilled and personable, and has been with the chorus since 2018. Under her guidance Jet Cities has performed on shows, festivals, ceremonies, and celebrations throughout the South Puget Sound area. They also compete annually with other choruses in North by Northwest Region 13, where at their most recent contest in April 2026 they took first place! This means the chorus will compete at our international convention…which will be happening in October of 2027, in Seattle!! You could be on stage with us!!

Jet Cities is open to cis women, transgender women, and non-binary people assigned female at birth. Our highest part sings barbershop tenor from approximately E4 to G5 (similar to Soprano 1 in traditional choral music), and our lowest singers sing barbershop bass from approximately D3 to A3 (similar to Alto II in traditional choral music). And if it’s been a while since you read music, we have many tools to help you get started. Bottom line: if you are, or have been (or even never have been!) a member of any sort of choir, Jet Cities will be a fun and energetic experience for you.
